What types of businesses does Kassly work for?

Kassly is built for three types of Filipino businesses — and you can run more than one from the same account. Add each business in onboarding (or anytime later), and Kassly configures the right features for each.

Can I run multiple businesses from one Kassly account?

Yes. A single Kassly account can run as many businesses as you need — for example, a retail store, a cafe, and a salon, all under the same login.

  • Separate per business — Each business has its own POS, products, inventory, customers, and reports. Nothing bleeds across.
  • Right features per type — Pick Retail, Food & Beverage, or Services per business, and Kassly turns on the modules that fit (KDS for F&B, appointments for Services, barcode/variants for Retail).
  • Group dashboard — A single dashboard rolls up sales, profit, and key numbers across every business, so you can see the whole picture in one view.
  • One-tap switching — Jump between businesses without logging out. Add a new business during onboarding or anytime later from Settings.

Branches vs. businesses: Multiple branches are locations of the same business (e.g., three outlets of one cafe). Multiple businesses are separate operations under the same account — each with its own catalog and reports.

How do I get started with Kassly?

Sign up for a free account at kasslypos.com/app/register. Once registered, you can start adding products, set up your branches, and begin processing sales right away. You can also try any paid add-on free for 30 days to unlock additional features.

Can I try before I pay?

Absolutely. The full POS is free forever with unlimited products, branches, and users — no credit card, no time limit. Every paid add-on comes with a 30-day free trial. Cancel anytime.

Do I need special hardware?

No. Kassly runs in any web browser on phones, tablets, laptops, or desktops. For printing transaction records, any 58mm or 80mm thermal printer works. No proprietary hardware required.

What happens when my internet goes down?

Kassly keeps working. All transactions are stored locally on your device and sync automatically when internet returns. You can operate offline for up to 72 hours without losing any data.

What payment methods does Kassly support?

Kassly supports cash, credit/debit cards, GCash, Maya, bank transfers, and credit accounts (store credit). You can also accept split payments across multiple methods in a single transaction.

What is the Kitchen Display System (KDS)?

The KDS sends orders directly to a screen in your kitchen so staff can see what to prepare without printed tickets. Orders are displayed in real-time, can be marked as complete, and help reduce errors and improve fulfillment speed. It's available as the KDS & Table Management add-on (₱400/branch/month, 30-day free trial).

Does Kassly support memberships? (Gym, studio, session passes)

Yes. Kassly has a Membership Plans module built for gyms, fitness studios, and any service business that sells access over time or sessions.

  • Session-based plans — 10-session pass, 20-visit pack. Each check-in deducts one session from the member's balance.
  • Time-based plans — 1-month unlimited, 3-month membership. Access expires after the set period.
  • POS integration — Sell a plan at the POS and the membership activates automatically for that customer.

Memberships are included in the free plan.

How do I manage multiple branches?

Go to Management → Branches to add and manage locations. Each branch has its own terminals, inventory stock levels, and staff assignments. You can transfer stock between branches and view consolidated or per-branch reports.

How does SC/PWD discount work?

Kassly has built-in Senior Citizen and PWD discounts following BIR rules (RA 9994 / RA 10754). It automatically computes the 20% discount on the VAT-exclusive price and marks discounted items as VAT-exempt.

  • Per-item selection — If only some items in a group order belong to the SC/PWD cardholder, the cashier selects which items get the discount. The rest stay at full price with VAT.
  • ID capture — The cardholder's ID number and name are recorded on the transaction for compliance.
  • Mixed VAT receipt — The receipt shows both vatable and VAT-exempt items with a proper VAT breakdown for your bookkeeper.
Can I track component costs for my compositions?

Yes! Kassly has a Composition / Bill of Materials feature. Define what goes into each product — for example, a Salted Caramel Latte needs 200ml milk, 18g espresso beans, and 30ml caramel syrup, or a gift bundle includes 3 items from your catalog.

  • Auto-deduction — Sell a product and Kassly deducts all its components from inventory automatically.
  • Cost analysis — See your cost per item and cost percentage so you can spot low-margin products.
  • Waste tracking — Account for processing loss (e.g., 5% waste on materials) so deductions reflect real usage.

Tip: Track components in the smallest unit you use in compositions (e.g., milliliters for liquids, grams for dry goods). When you stock in 10 bottles of 1L milk, enter 10,000 ml. This way composition deductions work perfectly.

Can I break down whole items into portions? (Butchery / decomposition)

Yes. Kassly has a Decomposition feature for breaking down bulk items into smaller sellable parts — ideal for butchery, portioning, and batch preparation.

  • Template-based — Set up once (e.g., whole chicken → 35% breast, 25% thigh, 15% wings, 15% drumsticks), reuse every time.
  • Automatic stock adjustment — Deducts the whole item, adds individual cuts. Cost is distributed proportionally, including waste.
  • Audit trail — Every decomposition is logged with who performed it, when, and the actual weights used.

Can I hold a transaction and come back to it later?

Yes. You can hold (park) a transaction to serve the next customer, then resume it later. The held order keeps all items, discounts, and customer info intact. Tap Hold on a pending transaction and resume it from the held orders list.

How do I void or return a transaction?

Kassly supports both voiding and returning transactions:

  • Void — Cancels the entire transaction and reverses stock and commission automatically.
  • Return — Process partial refunds for specific items. Refund goes to original payment method or store credit.

Every void and return is logged in the audit trail with the reason and who performed it.

Can I ring up an item that’s not in my catalog?

Yes. You can ring up custom items at the POS without adding them to your product catalog. Tap “Add Custom Item”, enter a name and price, and it gets added to the cart like any other product. Useful for one-time charges or miscellaneous items.

What types of discounts and promotions can I create?

Kassly supports several discount types:

  • Promo codes — Customers enter a code at checkout for a percentage or fixed discount.
  • Buy-X-Get-Y — Automatic bundle promotions (e.g., buy 2 get 1 free).
  • Time-limited promos — Set start and end dates for automatic activation (happy hour, weekend specials).
  • Manual discounts — Percentage or fixed-amount discounts applied by the cashier.

Create and manage promotions under Management → Promotions.

How do shifts and cash management work?

Kassly has full shift and cash management:

  • Open/close shifts — Start with your opening cash, close with the actual count. Kassly computes any discrepancy.
  • Cash in/out — Record cash drops, petty cash withdrawals, or float additions during the shift.
  • X & Z readings — Generate X-readings mid-shift and Z-readings at end of day for full accountability.
Does Kassly have customer management and loyalty?

Yes. Kassly lets you create customer profiles with contact info, purchase history, and loyalty points.

  • Loyalty points — Customers earn points on purchases and redeem them for discounts.
  • Store credit / tab — Let regulars pay on credit and settle later.
  • SC/PWD IDs — Store Senior Citizen and PWD ID numbers on the customer profile for quick discount application.

Attach a customer to any transaction at the POS for personalized service and purchase tracking.

Does Kassly support appointments and bookings?

Yes. Create bookable resources (chairs, tables, rooms, or staff) and let customers reserve time slots. View all bookings on a calendar and manage walk-ins alongside scheduled appointments. Available with the Appointments add-on.

How does table management work for restaurants?

Create your floor plan with table numbers, sections, and capacities. Assign orders to tables, track table status (available, occupied, cleaning), and manage a walk-in waitlist queue when tables are full. Tables auto-clear after payment. Available for Food & Beverage businesses.

How do service partner commissions work?

For service businesses like salons and spas, Kassly tracks partner commissions automatically. Assign a service partner to each transaction and Kassly calculates their commission based on configurable rates (per partner or per service). View daily settlements, commission reports, and tip totals all in one place. Available for Services business type.

What reports and analytics are available?

Kassly has a full reporting suite:

  • Dashboard — Daily KPIs at a glance — revenue, transactions, average order value. If you run multiple businesses, a group dashboard rolls up sales and profit across all of them in one view.
  • Sales reports — Filter by date range, view top-selling products, and analyze trends.
  • Inventory & profit — Stock valuation, profit margins, and cost analysis.
  • Staff performance — Sales targets, commission totals, and cashier accountability.

Export any report to CSV for your bookkeeper or accountant.

Can I set sales targets for my staff?

Yes. Set sales targets per staff member on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The dashboard shows progress in real time so staff and managers can see who’s on track. Targets help motivate your team and identify top performers.

Can I track business expenses?

Yes. Record expenses by category (utilities, supplies, rent, etc.), attach them to a shift for accountability, and run expense reports alongside your sales data. Managers can set up approval workflows so expenses require sign-off before being recorded.

How do staff roles and permissions work?

Kassly has role-based access control with three roles:

  • Owner — Full access to everything including billing, staff management, and store settings.
  • Manager — Products, inventory, customers, reports, POS, and shift management.
  • Cashier — POS access, own shift, and view-only for customers. Cannot void transactions or view reports.

Each staff member logs in with their own account so you have full accountability per user.

Does Kassly support barcode scanning?

Yes. Use your device’s camera or a connected Bluetooth barcode scanner to scan product barcodes and add them to the cart instantly. You can assign barcodes to products and variants when setting up your catalog.

Can products have variants? (Sizes, colors, etc.)

Yes. Each product can have multiple variants with their own SKU, barcode, price, and stock level. For example, a T-shirt can have S/M/L variants, or a coffee can have Regular and Large sizes — each tracked independently.

Does Kassly alert me when stock is low?

Yes. Kassly monitors your stock levels in real time and sends alerts when products drop below your set reorder point. Configure the threshold per product and get notified on the dashboard so you never run out of your best sellers.

Can I create purchase orders for suppliers?

Yes. Create purchase orders for your suppliers, track order status (draft → submitted → received), and automatically update your inventory when goods arrive. Manage your supplier list with contact info and payment terms. Available with the Advanced Inventory add-on.

Can I transfer stock between branches?

Yes. Create a transfer, select the products and quantities, ship it from one branch, and receive it at another. Stock levels update automatically at both ends with a full audit trail.

How do I add or remove add-ons?

Go to Settings → Billing in the app. From there you can browse available add-ons, enable or disable them per branch, or switch to the Everything Bundle. Every add-on includes a 30-day free trial. You can also apply coupon codes for discounts.

Can I cancel my add-ons?

Yes. Go to Settings → Billing to cancel any add-on. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period, and you can re-enable at any time. The full POS remains free forever — your data is never deleted when you cancel add-ons.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can request account deletion through our data deletion page or by emailing [email protected]. We will process your request and permanently remove your personal data.

Is Kassly a BIR-accredited POS?

Kassly is a business inventory and transaction tracker, not a BIR-accredited CAS/POS system. It generates transaction records and order summaries for your internal use — these are not official receipts or sales invoices. For BIR compliance, continue using your registered manual receipt booklets (OR/SI). Kassly's sales data and reports can be handed to your bookkeeper to help with tax filing.

How do I generate BIR-compliant reports?

Navigate to Sales → BIR Reports to generate Z-readings, sales summaries, and VAT reports. These reports follow the format required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue for Philippine businesses.
