One page for every switch, and imports for variants, customers and suppliers

Settings → Features turns whole areas of the menu on and off on the web, desktop and phone, the product import turns sizes and flavours into variants, and customers and suppliers can be imported from a spreadsheet.

A gym asked us to hide the parts of Kassly it never opens, and that became one page for every switch. The imports also grew: product variants, customers and suppliers.

Settings → Features

  • Every switch on one page. Settings → Features turns menu areas on and off: Services, Sales Orders & Shipments, Invoices, Consignment, Rentals, Stamp Cards, Memberships, Appointments, Purchasing, Production, Loans and Online Orders. The Kitchen Display, Table Management, Partners, Queue, Job Orders, POS and readings options and the Online Store switch moved here from Store Settings, which no longer has any switches. Features
  • Hiding only hides. An area you turn off leaves the menu and the Go to page search for everyone in your store. Nothing is deleted, the POS keeps working, and a saved link still opens the page. Existing stores see no change: a switch you never set counts as on.
  • A menu suggested for your business. New stores start with the menu that suits their type of business, so a gym starts without Purchasing or Production. Any store can press Use suggested menu, check the switches, and save.
  • Bookings follow the switches. With Services off, a new appointment takes a session from the customer's membership. With Memberships off, or before you have a membership plan, it is booked for a service. With both on, Book for lets you choose.
  • A gym's setup checklist now asks for its membership plans.

Imports

  • Sizes and flavours import as variants. The product import template has a new Variant column. Rows with the same Name and Category and a size or flavour in Variant become one product with variants, each with its own SKU, barcode, cost, price, opening quantity and reorder point. An item needs at least two variants. Products that already have variants come out in the template one row per variant, and older sheets without the column import as before. Importing Products
  • The same name in different categories. A Green Apple soda and a Green Apple shake can both go in. A row without a SKU is matched by name within its category.
  • Import customers. Import on the Customers page gives you a template filled in with your current customers. It also sets what the customer form can't: business name, TIN, billing address, credit limit and payment terms. Rows match an existing customer by phone (0917 123 4567 and +63 917 123 4567 are the same number), then email, then name. Importing needs Customer Memory & Promos and permission to edit customers. Import Formats
  • Import suppliers. Import on the Suppliers page takes the same fields as the Add Supplier form, including credit days, and matches suppliers by name. It needs Inventory Pro and permission to manage purchase orders. Suppliers

Both imports take .xlsx, .xls or .csv. A blank cell never erases what is already on file. If any row has a problem, nothing is saved and every row to fix is listed.

On phones and desktop

  • Kassly Desktop 1.19.0 and Kassly 1.37.0 for Android and iOS follow the switches on Settings → Features, and have a Features screen of their own. Rentals only hides the Rentals screen in these apps, since the web has no Rentals page.
  • Kassly Desktop 1.20.0 offers Credit at checkout to stores with receivables, including stores with only Cash Drawer & Expenses, as the phone app already did.
