Floor Plan Designer
Drawing each floor of your dining room in the web back office — tables in their real shapes and places, walls, the bar and the CR, starter templates, and tracing over a photo.

On this page
The floor plan designer is where you draw your dining room: each floor, every table in its real place and shape, and the walls, doors, bar and CR around them. Every screen in Kassly then shows that drawing as the live floor — the web Tables page, the Kassly app on phones and tablets, and Kassly Desktop. You draw it once and come back when you move the furniture.
Needs the Kitchen Orders & Tables add-on (₱400 per branch each month). It is in the Kitchen Pack (₱1,399 a month) and the Everything Bundle (₱2,999 a month). See Plans & add-ons.
What happens on the floor once it is drawn — seating, moving parties, Bill out, QR orders — is in Table management.
Opening the designer
Go to Settings → Floor Plan in the web back office (/app/tables/designer),
or press Floor plan on the Tables or Manage Tables screen.
You need the Set Up Tables & Floor Plan permission. Owners and managers have it; cashiers do not. Anyone else who opens the page is told to ask the owner or a manager, and is pointed back to the live floor. See Custom roles.
The designer is in the web back office only. The Kassly app and Kassly Desktop show your floor but cannot change it. Use a computer: the designer has a palette on the left, the floor in the middle and a properties panel on the right.
If you have more than one branch, pick it from the branch selector. Each branch has its own floors.
If you had tables before floor plans
Floor plans arrived on 2 October 2026. On that day Kassly turned each Section you had typed on your tables into a floor of the same name, and put tables with no section on a floor called Main floor. The tables were set out in rows of five: up to 4 seats as squares, 5 to 12 seats as long tables, and 13 or more as rooms.
So your first visit opens on a tidy grid, not a blank page. Drag each table to where it really stands and press Save layout.
Saving your work
Nothing reaches the POS until you press Save layout. The dot beside it says Unsaved changes or Saved. If you try to leave the page with unsaved work the browser warns you, and switching branch is refused until you save or undo.
A save covers the whole branch at once — every floor and every table — so a table moved from one floor to another can never be half-saved. You get Layout saved. Open POS screens update now. The web Tables page and Kassly Desktop redraw straight away; the phone and tablet app picks the new layout up within about 15 seconds.
A save is refused when:
| What happened | What you see |
|---|---|
| Someone else saved the same floor while you were editing | "Someone else saved Ground floor while you were editing. Reload to get their changes, then make yours again." Press Reload (drops your changes) and redo your edits |
| Two tables share a number | "Two tables are numbered “5”. Table numbers must be unique in this branch." Capitals do not count — "b1" and "B1" clash |
| You removed a table that has an open bill | "Table 5 has an open order. Settle or move it on the POS first." |
Undo and Redo in the toolbar work on everything since you last saved.
Floors
The tabs above the drawing are your floors, each with a count of the tables on it. Press Add floor for another one: Ground floor, 2nd floor, Al fresco, KTV rooms — whatever your place has. Click a floor's empty space to see its panel:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Floor name | Up to 50 characters. Two floors in one branch cannot share a name |
| Size | Small 24 × 16, Standard 32 × 20 (the default), or Large 40 × 24 units. One unit is about half a metre |
| Tables, seats | How many tables are drawn on this floor and how many seats they add up to |
| Trace from photo | See Tracing over a photo |
| Not on a floor yet | Tables that exist but are not drawn anywhere. See below |
| Delete floor | Only shown when there is more than one floor. Its tables move to Not on a floor yet; they are not deleted |
A branch can have up to 30 floors.
Adding tables
Drag a table from the Tables palette onto the floor. You can also select one in the palette and press Enter to drop it in a free spot.
| Palette item | Seats | Numbered |
|---|---|---|
| Round | 2 or 4 | The next free number |
| Square | 4 | The next free number |
| Long | 6 or 8 | The next free number |
| Booth | 4 | The next free number |
| Bar seat | 1 | B1, B2, B3… |
| Room / kubo | 10 | Room 1, Room 2… |
Use Room / kubo for a KTV room, a private dining room or a kubo: one space that takes one party and one bill.
Not on a floor yet lists tables that exist but are not drawn: tables added on the Manage Tables screen, and tables from a floor you deleted. Drag one onto the floor, or tap it to drop it in a free spot. Until a table is drawn, the web Tables page shows it only in the Grid view. And a phone or desktop POS cannot open on the floor while no table at all is drawn.
Editing a table
Click a table to select it. Drag it to move it, or drag its corner handle to resize it — a round table stays round. Everything snaps to half a unit, about 25 cm. The panel on the right holds the rest:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Table number | Up to 20 characters, and not only digits: "T1", "Bar 1" and "Patio 3" are fine. Unique within the branch |
| Seats | − and +. The chairs are drawn round the table. Long tables and booths grow to fit their seats |
| Shape | Round, Square, Long, Booth, Bar seat or Room |
| Rotation | 0°, 45°, 90° or 135° |
| Floor | Moves the table to another floor |
| Waiter section | Whose section the table is in. See Waiter sections |
Each shape has a ceiling on seats:
| Shape | Most seats |
|---|---|
| Round | 12 |
| Square | 8 |
| Long | 20 |
| Booth | 8 |
| Bar seat | 1 |
| Room | 40 |
Duplicate makes a copy with the next free number. Delete removes the table when you save.
If a table's chairs run into another table, the panel warns "Its chairs overlap another table. Guests won't fit through." It is a warning only; you can still save.
A table with a bill open on it says so in the panel. You can move it while guests are seated, but removing it waits until the bill is settled — the save is refused until then.
Room details
The Room details palette holds the things around the tables. They never take orders; they help staff match the screen to the room.
| Room detail | Has a label you can change |
|---|---|
| Wall, Door, Window, Plant | No |
| Bar counter, Kitchen, Cashier, Counter, CR, Stairs, Stage | Yes |
| Zone label | Yes — use it to name an area, such as "Smoking" or "Garden" |
Labels are up to 30 characters. Select a room detail to change its label, Rotate 90°, Duplicate or Delete it. Walls and windows stretch along their length only. A floor can hold up to 300 room details.
Starting from a template
Templates in the toolbar lays out a whole floor for you:
| Template | What you get |
|---|---|
| Café | 4 two-tops by the window, 4 four-tops, 2 booths, coffee bar with stools |
| Samgyupsal | 10 grill tables for 4, 2 barkada grills for 8, banchan bar |
| Carinderia | Turo-turo counter, 6 long shared tables, cashier by the door |
| KTV rooms | 6 private rooms for 8 to 15, hallway down the middle |
A template replaces everything on the floor you are looking at — its tables and its room details. Add a new floor first if you only want to try one. Undo brings the old layout back until you save; after you save, the tables it replaced are deleted.
The templates are drawn for the Standard floor size. Rename and reseat the tables afterwards to match yours.
Tracing over a photo
Take a photo of a sketch of your room, or of the room itself, and draw on top of it. Press Trace from photo in the toolbar, or Upload photo in the floor's panel. JPEG, PNG and WebP pictures up to 5 MB are accepted.
The photo sits faded under the grid. Use Photo strength to make it fainter or stronger, and Remove photo when you are done with it.
Renumbering a floor
Renumber in the toolbar renumbers the tables on the floor you are looking at from front to back, left to right, reusing the same numbers. Use it after you have moved tables around and table 7 ended up beside table 2.
Only tables numbered with digits alone are renumbered. "B1", "KTV 3" and "Patio 2" are left as they are.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| R | Rotates the selected table 45°, or a room detail 90° |
| Delete or Backspace | Deletes the selection |
| Ctrl+D (⌘D on a Mac) | Duplicates the selection |
| Ctrl+Z (⌘Z) | Undo |
| Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y | Redo |
| Arrow keys | Nudge by half a unit; hold Shift to move 1 m |
| Esc | Deselects |
Things to know about the designer
- Floor plan changes are not audit-logged. Saving a layout, adding or removing tables and deleting floors leave no trail in Audit logs.
- A table switched off is not drawn. Turning Active off on Manage Tables takes a table off the designer and off the live floor.
- The designer sets each table's Section. Once you save a layout, a drawn table's Section is its floor's name, and a table not on any floor has none. Anything typed in Section on Manage Tables is replaced.
- Up to 500 tables per branch can be saved from the designer.
