Queue Management
Take names at the door, work through them in order, and ring up the sale when the service is done.

The Queue is a waiting list. You add each customer as they walk in, they get a number, and staff work down the list. It is built for salons, barbershops, clinics, laundries, and anywhere people wait their turn rather than sitting at a table.
Queue is free. It is not an add-on, and there is nothing to buy.
Turning the queue on
The Queue tab is on by default for stores set up as a Services business. Every other business type has to switch it on.
Go to Settings → Features and turn on Queue tab ("Show the customer queue tab in navigation"). The tab appears in your navigation immediately.
Turning it off only hides the tab. It does not delete anything, and anyone already in the queue is still there when you switch it back on.
Adding someone to the queue
Tap + on the Queue screen. The Add to Queue sheet asks for:
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Name | Yes | Free text — "Walk-in customer name". No customer record needed. |
| Service | No | Pick from your services. Used later to pre-fill the sale. |
| Assign Partner | No | The staff member who will handle them. Can be changed later. |
| Priority | No | "Move to front of queue" — sorts them above everyone waiting. |
Tap Add to Queue to save. The next number is assigned for you.
The queue needs a connection. Unlike selling, the queue does not work offline. When your device is offline the screen shows "You're offline. Queue updates require an internet connection.", and tapping + gives you "Queue management requires an internet connection." Sales still go through offline — only the waiting list stops.
How the numbers work
Numbers run per branch and restart at 1 each day. Yesterday's #14 and today's #14 are different customers.
Numbers are assigned in the order people are added — priority changes where someone sits in the list, not what number they were given.
Two staff adding a walk-in at the very same moment can occasionally be given the same number. It is uncommon, but if you see two #7s, that is why. Nothing else about the entry is affected.
Working the list
Each row shows the number, the name (or Walk-in if you left it blank), the service, the assigned partner, a status badge, and how long they have been waiting — Just now, 18m wait, 1h 5m wait, or ~30m est. if you entered an estimate. Priority entries are flagged Priority.
The list sorts priority entries first, then oldest first. Pull down to refresh.
Tap a row to act on it:
| From | Actions available |
|---|---|
| Waiting | Start · No Show · Cancel |
| In Progress | Complete · Cancel |
| Completed, Cancelled, No Show | None — the entry is finished |
Start stamps the time the service began; Complete, Cancel and No Show stamp the time it ended. Those timestamps are what let you see how long people actually waited.
Entries are never deleted. Someone who left is marked No Show or Cancelled, and they stay on the day's list as a record.
The header counts how many are still waiting and how many are on the list altogether — for example "3 waiting · 11 total".
Charging the customer
Once an entry is Completed, a Charge button appears on its row. Tapping it opens the POS with a fresh cart, the service already rung up, and the assigned partner already attached to the line. Add anything else, then take payment as normal — see Payments.
After the sale goes through, the entry shows Charged and the sale is linked to it. If the sale was rung offline the link is made when the device syncs.
Completing an entry does not create a sale, and taking a sale does not complete an entry. They are two separate steps, joined by Charge. If you ring someone up from the POS directly instead of using Charge, their queue entry stays Completed and unlinked — which is fine, it just will not say Charged.
What the queue does not do
Be aware of these limits before you build a workflow on it:
- No customer-facing "now serving" display. There is no screen you can put in the waiting area, and no public link. Staff read the numbers off their own device.
- The list is one day at a time. You cannot pull up last Tuesday's queue. Sales history is the durable record — see Making a sale.
- It is not connected to appointments. A booked appointment does not create a queue entry, and a queue entry is not a booking. Queue is for walk-ins.
- It is not connected to the Kitchen Display. The KDS has its own list of tickets, which is unrelated to this one.
- Priority is on or off. There is no middle rank.
- Priority cannot be changed after the fact. Neither can the service or the number. Cancel the entry and add a new one if you need to.
- The screen refreshes when you open it, when you pull down, and after you act. It is not live-updating between devices, so two staff working the same list should refresh before acting.
A separate thing: order numbers on order-taking devices
If you run a second device as an order pad — someone taking orders away from the till while a cashier settles them — that flow uses its own Queue number, typed in by the order-taker to match the paper ticket the customer is holding.
That number is not part of the Queue described on this page. It is not drawn from the same list, it does not appear on the receipt, and it is only there so the cashier can match a customer to their unpaid order. See Making a sale for how an order is handed from one device to another.
