Bookable Services
The services customers can book ahead — how long they take, what they cost, and which staff member performs them.

A bookable service is an ordinary service from your catalog that you can put on the calendar: a haircut at 2pm on Saturday, a two-hour massage, a badminton court from 6 to 8. There is no separate "bookable" list to maintain — every active service in Catalog → Services can be booked, and the calendar is simply another way of selling it.
This page covers the setup: the service, its duration and price, and the staff member who does the work. Taking and managing the bookings themselves is in Appointment calendar.
Needs the Appointments & Bookings add-on (₱400 per branch each month). It is also in the Beauty Pack (₱1,099 a month), the Sports & Venue Pack (₱999 a month) and the Everything Bundle (₱2,999 a month). See Plans & add-ons.
Finding the pages
Three pages between them hold everything on this page:
| Page | Where | For |
|---|---|---|
| Services | /app/services |
The service itself: name, duration, price |
| Partners | /app/partners |
The people who perform services, and their commission rates |
| Partner schedule | /app/partners/{id}/schedule |
A partner's weekly availability |
Services sits under CATALOG in the sidebar. Partners sits under SERVICES, next to Appointments.
The SERVICES sidebar group is only built for service businesses. If your store is set up as Retail or Food & Beverage, Partners, Appointments and Resources are not in your sidebar at all, even with the add-on paid for. A Food & Beverage store gets Bookings in the DINING group instead. You can switch the group on by enabling Partners or Queue under Store Settings, or reach any of the pages by typing its address. Everything works normally once you are there.
What makes a service bookable
Nothing. Create the service the normal way — see Services catalog for the full form — and it appears in the calendar's Service picker straight away.
Two things do decide whether it shows up:
- Active. Clearing Active removes a service from the calendar as well as from the terminal.
- Rentals. A service with Rentals ticked books against a court, room or table instead of against a person. See Rentals.
Duration, and what it actually does
Duration (minutes) on the service form is a label, and it is worth knowing that before you plan around it.
| Where duration shows up | What it does |
|---|---|
| The Services list | Displays as 60 min next to the service |
| The POS product grid | Displays under the service name |
| The web calendar | Nothing. You type the start and end time yourself |
| The mobile app | Nothing. Length comes from fixed chips: 30m, 1h, 1h 30m, 2h |
So a 45-minute service does not produce a 45-minute slot anywhere. On the web you set both ends of the booking by hand; in the mobile app you pick one of the four chips, and 45 minutes is not one of them. Fill in Duration so your staff can see how long the job takes, then set the real times when you book.
Price, and when money changes hands
The service's Selling Price is what the customer pays. A booking on its own takes no money and creates no sale — it is a note in a calendar until somebody rings it up at the counter.
There is a Deposit Amount field on the booking form, and it behaves the same way the job-order deposit does: it records a number and nothing else.
The deposit is a reminder, not a payment. Typing an amount into Deposit Amount records that figure against the booking. No cash is recorded, no payment exists, and the amount is not subtracted from what the customer owes at checkout. If you take money up front, ring it up as a real payment. The web form also has no way to tick the deposit as paid, even though the field exists underneath.
Who performs the service
A partner is the person who performs services — a stylist, a therapist, a technician. Press Add Partner on the Partners page:
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | The full name |
| Nickname | No | The display name. Used everywhere a partner is listed, including the calendar and the POS |
| Phone | No | Free text |
| No | Must be unique within your store if you use it | |
| Branch | Yes | A partner belongs to exactly one branch |
| Status | — | Active, Inactive or On Leave. Active by default |
| Commission Type | — | Flat Commission, Tiered or Booth Rental. Read the warning in Commissions before choosing anything but Flat |
| Hire Date | No | A date, for your own records |
| Service Commission (%) | — | Defaults to 60 |
| Product Commission (%) | — | Defaults to 10 |
| Booth Rental Amount (per day) | — | Replaces the two rates when Commission Type is Booth Rental |
| Notes | No | Free text |
Only Active partners can be booked. Inactive and On Leave partners drop out of the calendar's partner picker and out of the POS staff list, but their past bookings and past commissions stay exactly where they are.
On a services business, the web calendar requires both a Partner and a Service before it will let you save a booking. For a court or room rental the partner field disappears entirely — a badminton court is not performed by a person.
Partner records versus staff records
These are two different lists, and mixing them up causes real confusion:
| Partner | Staff | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | /app/partners |
/app/staff |
| What it is | Somebody who performs services and earns commission | A login account with a role and a PIN |
| Can log in | No | Yes, unless they are on the Staff role |
| Clocks in and out | No | Yes |
| Gets a payslip | No | Yes |
| Earns commission | Yes | No |
A stylist who both performs services and uses the till needs two records — one on each page. There is no screen anywhere in Kassly that links a partner to a login account, so nothing joins the two together for you. See Staff records and Users and roles.
Weekly availability
Partners → (a partner) → Schedule gives you seven rows, one per day, each with a start time, an end time and an Available tick. Press Save Schedule.
The schedule does not stop anyone booking outside it. Nothing in Kassly reads these hours when a booking is saved: you can book a partner at 3am on their day off and it saves without complaint. Treat the schedule as a note to your front desk, not as a guard. The only rule Kassly actually enforces is that one partner cannot be in two places at once — see Appointment calendar.
Commission on a service
Each service carries a Commission Rate Override (%), which replaces the partner's own rate for that one service. Leave it blank and the partner's rate applies.
The order Kassly works through is set out in full in Commissions, along with the ways commission is assigned at the counter.
Rental services
A court, a KTV room or a function hall is sold by time rather than by the job. Tick Rentals on the service form and the price becomes an hourly or per-block rate. Rental services are booked against a resource instead of a partner, and can also be metered live at the counter — see Rentals.
Who can do what
| Action | Owner | Manager | Cashier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Create and edit services | Yes | Yes | No |
| See the Partners list | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Add or edit a partner | Yes | Yes | No |
| Delete a partner | Yes | Yes | No |
| Set a partner's weekly schedule | Yes | Yes | No |
| Assign a partner to a sale line | Yes | Yes | Yes |
The Partners and Services links only appear in the sidebar for Owners and Managers, but a cashier's terminal still reads the partner list so they can assign work to a stylist at the point of sale.
