The three steps Kassly walks you through after signup, and the checklist that follows it.

After you create your store, Kassly walks you through a short wizard. It is deliberately short — three steps, none of which you can get badly wrong — because the rest is easier to do once you can see the system.
Step 1: Store information
Your business details, as they should appear to customers and on receipts:
- Business name — your registered business name if you have one
- Address — the branch address that prints on receipts
- Contact number — what customers should call
None of this is locked in. You can change all of it later in Settings → Store Settings.
Step 2: Branches
You already have one branch, created with your store. Here you rename it to something meaningful — "Main", "Divisoria", "Second Floor" — and set its address if it differs from the store address.
If you only have one location, accept the default and move on. Branches matter when you have more than one place selling at the same time; see Branch management.
Step 3: Done
The wizard confirms you're set up and drops you on the dashboard.
The dashboard checklist
The wizard is not the whole of setup — it's the part that has to happen before anything else works. The rest shows up as a checklist on your dashboard:
| Step | Counts as done when |
|---|---|
| Store info | You've saved an address or a contact number |
| Tax & receipt | You've set a tax rate for the store |
| First sale | You've completed one real sale |
The checklist reads your actual data rather than remembering which buttons you pressed. If you add your address from Settings instead of the wizard, the step ticks itself. If you complete a sale from the app, the last step ticks. This means you can safely ignore the wizard and do things your own way — the checklist keeps up.
You can dismiss the checklist at any time with Dismiss; it won't come back, and dismissing it changes nothing about your store.
What to do before your first real sale
The wizard doesn't force these, but each one is painful to fix after the fact:
- Set your tax rate. Whether you're VAT-registered, non-VAT, or VAT-exempt changes what prints on every receipt. See Tax configuration.
- Set up your receipt. Your business name, TIN, address, and any BIR permit details. See Receipt settings.
- Add a few products. You don't need your whole catalogue — start with your ten best sellers and add the rest as you go. See Adding products.
Then make one small sale to yourself and check the printed receipt. It's the fastest way to catch a wrong tax setting or a misspelled business name.
